Earth Day

Today is Earth Day. The Enviropagan Loonies say so.

I recently purchased a push-powered reel lawn mower. I bought it because I am cheap. Then, however, overcome as I was with worry about potentially reducing the size of my Carbon Footprint, I cut down all the trees in my yard and burned them.

The wood was still wet, so I had to use gasoline.

Happy Earth Day.

Thank you. I thought so, but Missus Carriere was unimpressed.

But, of course you didn't DRIVE to pick up the gasoline. And probably, you used matches (or perhaps flint and steel?) rather than a lighter with all that fuel to ignite the whole thing.

What a relief! That's reassuring.
Thank you for your conservation.

OK Carriere! Quit that!

When I laugh that hard I snort which is very unladylike and makes the neighbours think I've gone mad.

You had me at the "Avoid the Clap. Jimmy Dugan" quote. This one is just fantastic. You've been added to my Google Reader.

(Plus I liked your post about allowing laity to grope the sacred species.)
