Living the Liturgical Year

Missus Carriere was today, February 14th on the new liturgical calendar, thrilled nearly to bits with a box of Saint Cyril and Saint Methodius Day chocolates and a romantic Saint Cyril and Saint Methodius Day card. "Be My Cyril and Methodius" it said.

The opinion among certain of serious Catholics is that Saint Cyril and Saint Methodius Day is getting downright commercial. Some say it's nothing but a holy day manufactured by the greeting card companies to make money. I disagree. I think it's important to see the ways the Holy Faith has influenced the culture. So to you, Dear Reader, a Happy Saint Cyril and Saint Methodius Day!

Isn't the Novus Ordo calendar great?
